かようび - Contact your partner & start your speaking assignment

みなさん、おはようございます!

Here's what you need to do today:

  • Today you need to contact your partner and start work on your speaking assignment.
  • Go to coaching if you are scheduled today!

It's the end of the semester, and there's a lot going on! There will be TWO culture cafes next week, both with bonus point opportunities!

I'll be hosting a Project Help Night, but I need some input as to WHEN it should be! Please fill out the survey!

Don't forget to take the NCVPS student survey, too!

Using と おもいます

This week's grammar is a little complicated and really builds on what you've learned in the past few lessons (especially Lesson 9 and Lesson 11) . If you feel like you need to go back and review, now is the time to do it.

The three concepts you'll be introduced to in this lesson are: the present tense short form, how to express "I think..." and "I intend to..."

Today we will focus on と おもいます, "I think..."

In this week's lesson video you heard the example:

はい、だいじょうぶ と おもいます。

Yes, I think so. (OR, Yes I think that will be OK.)

  • Instead of using the polite です, you can ONLY use the short form, before the expression とおもいます.
  • だ is the short form of です。
  • と おもいます can ONLY come after a short form of a verb OR adjective.

Watch the video below for more details on how to use と おもいます:
