Weekly Wrap Up

What an incredible Spirit Week! From cowboys, cowgirls and total rockstars, to showing our Franklin Pride and our cultural pride; letting our inner hero or villain lose to honoring the past and looking forward to our futures, everyone's outfits and costumes each day were amazing. We still have so many exciting events this month, so the fun has just begun!


Also, a HUGE thank you to all of the Franklin families, students, faculty and staff for making my birthday so special! I am overwhelmed by your generosity and thoughtfulness. I love my Franklin Families!

Early Release and No School

Thursday is an early release day and there is no school for students Friday.

Picture Day-Monday, October 16

This Monday, October 16th, is PICTURE DAY. ALL students must come to school dressed in their Franklin Uniform. These pictures will be used for our yearbook, so all students will have their picture taken. Franklin Feast Dress Down

We will be holding two dress down days to help raise funds for our 2nd Annual Franklin Feast. These dress down days will be October 18th and November 2nd. If you were not with us last year, the Franklin Feast (November 15th) is our time to sit down as an entire, 1300+ Franklin Family of students and staff and enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together. Our middle school students buddy up with our primary students and great friendships are made and fostered. It's an event to remember. Please consider participating in both dress down days to help us make this event possible. The minimum donation for dressing down these days is $5 each day. You can pay for them one at a time or for both days at once. Checks must be turned in to your first hour teacher to participate.

Splash Art

Wednesday, October 18th at 5:30 PM we are hosting a family splash art evening. The cost is $20 per painter, which must be paid in advance by check. Checks must be turned in to your child's homeroom teacher by Tuesday, October 17th. We will have two Food Trucks on site, Gastro Geeks and Beach Mamas, so come enjoy a fun night out with the family.

Middle School Dance***

Ms. Vogel's Engaged Citizenship class is hosting a Halloween Dance for the Middle School students on October 27th from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM. All proceeds from the dance will be donated to aid in hurricane relief for Puerto Rico and other Caribbean islands. Here's what you need to know:

Place: The dance will be held in our cafeteria, though you probably won't recognize it once it's transformed into our spooky dance hall.

Cost: $10 paid in check or money order to the student's 1st hour teacher by October 25th.

What's included: Students who have paid for the dance can dress down on the 27th. They can also dress in costume during the dance only, though it is not required that students be in costume. Costumes must follow the dress-down dress code and cannot include masks or weapons. Your $10 also includes snacks, use of a photo booth, and all the dancing you can handle! Watch out though; Ms. Muzzillo and Ms. Ellis have been know to be scary on the dance floor...scary good that is!

Pick-Up: Students will be picked up at the carline at 6:00 PM. Any student not picked up by 6:15 PM will have a late fee of $1/a minute added to their Franklin account.


***Please note, Middle School students will NOT be permitted to dress in costume to school on Halloween, so if you want your Franklin friends to see your awesome (and awesomely appropriate) costume, the dance is your chance.

Harvest Festival

The 4th Annual Harvest Festival October 28th from 11 AM - 2 PM! This year we will continue to offer bounce houses, games, pumpkin decorating contest, food and entertainment, and the Scholastic Book Fair, as in past years, but we have several new features include a trunk-or-treat hosted by our awesome teachers, a student art sale, and a silent auction. Scholastic Book Fair

Our Book Fair will take place from October 23rd to October 30th. Daily Book Fair hours will be 8:00 AM-4:00 PM with the exception of October 24th & 26th (8:00 AM-6:00 PM) and October 28th (11:00 AM- 2:00 PM). We need volunteers! Please email Ms. Taverna if you are interested in helping out. More information regarding students visiting and purchasing from the Book Fair will be sent out soon.
