Grandparents Day - September 7, 2018

Our loving Grandparents joined us to read to our students in the library! Students had a wonderful time reading to their grandparents! We had over 100 grandparents stop by and join us! Grandparent's ROCK!

International Dot Day Celebration - September 15ish

Celebrate Creativity,
Courage & Collaboration!

Students during their library were able to connect, collaborate and create their dot my making their own mark. They were able to join the global community and use their talents to make this world a better place.

MackinVia

Students from 3rd-5th were introduced to many different databases that MackinVia has to offer. They were able to view some of the databases while learning that there is 9,240 eBooks and 522 audio books available for them to choose from. Capstone

Students from 2nd-5th grade during their library visits have been able to learn how to locate eBooks in Capstone Interactive. They are able to listen to audio recorded books by searching by subjects, genres, levels plus also have the option to AR test them. Please click on the Capstone Picture below to go directly to Capstone Interactive. Please visit library or ask students for login credentials.

Quiver App

Students PK-1st grade were able to use the app Quiver to make 3-dimensional dots, during the International Dot Day. If you want to try Quiver please feel free to click on the link and give Quiver a try.

Math & Science Connections in the Library with Read Alouds

Science with the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by: Eric Carle

PK & Kinder students were able to create the cycle of the butterfly using manipulatives and color their colorful caterpillar.

Math with the book "Groovy Joe Ice Cream & Dinosaurs" by: Eric Litwin

PK & Kinder students were able to make math connections by creating a graph to demonstrate their favorite ice cream flavor. Math can definitely be yummy!
