Favorite or Current Book Selfies
We’re planning to put a photo of a staff member or student with their favorite (or current) book in each newsletter. If you’d like to join this “book share”, please send Arielle (Hornets@ewsd.org) a photo of yourself with the book cover visible. If you’re camera shy, it’s ok to just send a photo of the book cover to Hornets@ewsd.org. We’re excited to get great book recommendations!
Rotary Speech Contest
The Essex Rotary (a local volunteer group) is hosting their annual speech contest via Zoom this year. You can earn some cash and something to add to your college applications...
The prompt is: How can you and your local Rotary Clubs work together to improve your community and open new opportunities for you and other students?
Do you have any thoughts about how you and a local community group could make life better for teens?
The contest would occur in early March. There's a five minute time limit; you do NOT have to memorize it. If you are interested, please reach out to Mrs. Frisbie (kfrisbie@ewsd.org).
