Josie Volk Commits To Row At Harvard University

Congratulations to Howell senior Josie Volk on her recent commitment to further her education and row at Harvard University. Josie will be a member of the Harvard Women's Lightweight Crew team. She has been rowing since the 8th grade and is the second Howell Viking in the past two years to further their education and row collegiately at the NCAA Division I level.

Wrestling Takes Second Place At Lee's Summit Tournament

Coming off a big dual win over Timberland that put the Vikings in command of the GAC South they traveled to the Lee's Summit Holiday Invitational. The Vikings finished second, just 1.5 points behind #4 state ranked Liberty. Howell wrestlers Peter Enos and Jack Flynn brought home individual titles. You can see the results of the tournament below. Congrats to Coach Stroh, staff and wrestlers on a great tournament.

Girls Swim Earns State Cut Times At Lindbergh Invitational

The girls swim program is coming off the highest state finish in program history and our Lady Vikings are looking to improve on the mark. On Saturday they competed in the Lindbergh Invitational and earned several state cuts. The 400 free relay earned the best time in the State while senior Emma Brabham also picked up the fastest 200 IM in the State. You can view a quick recap of the Lindbergh Invitational below. Lindbergh Invitational Highlights:


  • Madison Nguyen, Reagan Cathcart, Natalie Nguyen and Emma Brabham earned the state cut and hold the fastest time in the state for the 400 free relay.
  • Emma Brabham earned the fastest time in the state for the 200 IM.
  • Nguyen Cathcart Nguyen & Brabham take first in the 200 free relay grabbing the state cut and the third fastest time in the state.
  • Madison Nguyen earned a 100 fly state cut.
  • Reagan Cathcart & Emma Brabham both earned 50 free state cuts.
  • Madison Nguyen grabs the 200 free state cut.

Howell Alum Graves Earns Active Roster Spot With Marlins

On Wednesday the Miami Marlins selected Howell alum Brett Graves in the Major League phase of the Rule 5 Draft. Brett is now part of the Marlins active 40 man roster and will have the opportunity during spring training to make their opening day roster. Congratulations to Brett as he prepares for spring training.

Baseball To Have Open Weight Room Times Beginning In January

All baseball players and any students interested in working out in the mornings can start after the holiday break. Starting in January the baseball coaches will open up the weight room from 6:00 am to 7:00 am on Mondays, Wendsdays, and Fridays. If you have any questions please contact Coach Perkins.

Alex Eyler Commits To Further Education & Soccer Career At University Of Evansville

Congratulations to Alex Eyler on her decision to further her education and soccer career at NCAA Division I University of Evansville. Over the past three years, Francis Howell High School has had over 150 students further their education or activity at the college level.

Choir Goes Caroling To Benefit Children's Charities

Thank you to our very talented choir for caroling at The Meadows over the weekend. Not only were our talented choir members able to share their great sounds and put others in the Christmas spirit, but they were also able to raise money for Children's Charities. Thank you to Mrs. Fitzpatrick and our choir members for a great day of caroling!
