Principal's Message

Parents, Students, Teachers,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! As we continue our journey as a BCPS Lighthouse High School, this is sure to be an exciting year of learning for everyone. Students will each receive a laptop and teachers will implement responsive instruction through technology integration. Each student will once again receive an HP Revolve laptop.

In order for students to receive his or her class schedule and laptop, the following is required:

Student's schedules will not be mailed home, but will be distributed at the time forms are returned. All students are highly encouraged to turn in forms before school begins. Returning forms after these dates may delay your receipt of class schedule and laptop.

Please mark your calendars for these back-to-school events:

  • New Student & Parent Orientation - Tuesday, August 29th - 6:30 PM

  • Early Entry Day for Grade 9 - Wednesday, August 30th - 7:20-10:55 AM

New students and parents are encouraged to attend orientation on August 29th to learn about OMHS and meet staff; we'll have sessions for both parents and students. Grade 9 students are also invited to Early Entry Day on Wednesday, August 30th. This will be a half day of school for incoming Grade 9 students only. Transportation is provided to and from school via normal bus routes. Lunch is provided by BCPS. Students will meet their teachers, visit classrooms, find their way around the building, and have fun making new friends.

Back-to-School Night is your opportunity to meet with each of your child's teachers and learn about the academic program. BTSN a great first step in developing a partnership with each teacher to ensure your child's success!

We're looking forward to a fantastic school year! See you soon!
