May - Graduation Edition - Class of 2021
Congratulations Unity Preschool Graduates
Dear Unity Preschool Families,
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26 NIV
WE MADE IT! Whew - it has been a long year full of many changes, challenges, new rules and procedures, but we persevered and WE MADE IT! I am excited to devote this last issue of our Newsletter to honoring our preschool graduates. In fact, if you are wondering why we celebrate preschool graduation allow me a moment to remind you of the many, many milestones that our graduates have achieved these past few years. I like to think of preschool graduation as the culmination of the most basic of all learning; the foundation of life lessons that many of us may take for granted.
During your child's preschool years at Unity Preschool, your child learned the ABCs and the sounds those letters make. They learned how to count to 10, then 20, then 30, and up to 100 for some. They learned how to recognize their name and how to write their name. They learned the days of the week, the months of the year, and the seasons. They learned songs, fingerplays, poems, and stories that many of you may not even know. They learned how to follow directions, how to sit quietly, and how to take turns. They learned not just how to share, but that they have to share to be successful. They learned how to socialize with others and how to talk in front of classmates through morning Circle Time and other lessons. They learned how to respect authority and that actions have consequences. They learned that not every accident they make or tear they cry will be wiped away by their mom or dad. They learned that if they mess up or make a mistake, it is OK and they know how to try to work through the problem. They learned how to love people not in their family, maybe even people who do not look like them. They made their first friends without the help of their parents. They started showing signs of compassion and empathy. Quite simply, preschool graduation is a milestone that says “WE MADE IT!” All of these many educational, emotional and social lessons learned and conquered at both preschool and home, deserve to be celebrated --- and especially this year!
We recognize that you have many choices of preschools in our area and we are so grateful that you chose Unity Preschool. Thank you for trusting us with your children and for supporting Unity Preschool through the years. We will miss you and wish you all the best!
Much love and many blessings,
Ms. Linda
