Alder Weekly Update

May 1, 2022

Message from the Principal

Hello Parents, Staff, and Students,

This week we welcomed May along with some exciting happenings as we begin to approach our end of the year festivities!

We celebrated our teachers for all their hard work and dedication to our students and school in honor of National Teacher Appreciation Week! We showered them with a breakfast to kick off the week, a beautiful luncheon hosted by our Parents Club, and hand delivered soft pretzels to their classroom doors on Friday! Thank you everyone for your time and support of our staff as many parents delivered delicious treats throughout the week!

Our first dance for the entire school, "Spring Back the Fun" will be held at Alder on May 20th from 6:30-8:30. Tickets are $7.00 and can still be purchased! Looking forward to a fun night of pizza and dancing!

The 8th grade dance theme was announced, Beach Bonfire - Paradise at the Shore and will be held on June 23rd at cafeteria and courtyard at Alder. Tickets will go on sale shortly.

We "Chalkd the Walk" in honor of Law Day as part of our partnership with the One Judge One School Program. Students depicted various symbols representing Law Day and the theme for this year, which is: The Constitution Today.

Our 8th graders will enjoy Morey's Pier on June 9th! The trip is open to all 8th graders. Tickets are $40.00 each and can be purchased at school by cash or check (made out to Parents Club).

Please remind your students we are looking forward to their participation in all end of the year activities, but proper behavior and following of all school rules is imperative. Dress code, cell phone usage rules remain in effect, and of course respectfulness at all times.

See below for some great pictures of the busy week at Alder!

Dice and Dine!

Now in its 12th year, the Dice & Dine will be held from 6:30 – 9:30 pm, Thursday, May 19, at Linwood Country Club, and will feature live casino games provided by Full House Casino Entertainment, food stations, and an auction.

The open-to-the-public, indoor/outdoor event promises a fun evening from start to finish by providing attendees with $50 in casino chips when they arrive. Guests have the opportunity to test their luck at eight Blackjack tables, two Craps tables, two Roulette Wheels, and a Big 6 Money Wheel. Additional chips are available for purchase throughout the night. At the end of the evening, ‘gamblers’ can exchange their chips for auction tickets and the chance to win exciting prizes donated by generous local businesses.

The fundraiser will also honor this year’s local Aces and Lou DeScioli Community Spirit Award recipients Ed Bertino, Ron Koons, Tommy Rizzotte, Jeremiah Simmons, and Heidi Vazquez – all Egg Harbor Township Police Officers and EHTHS Alumni who go above and beyond the call of duty to provide “Not Even Once” (NEO) instructional programming for Egg Harbor Township 12-grade students as part of their Health and Physical Education curriculum.

Tickets are $100 each. Seven sponsorship packages ranging from a $250 Friend of the Foundation Sponsorship to the $10,000 'naming rights' Jackpot Presenting Sponsorship are also available. Questions? Please call (609) 646-8441 ext. 1017, or via email to
