Friday, October 6, 2017—Dynamic Duo Day (famous people or things that go together like Batman and Robin, mac-n-cheese, etc.) Costumes must complement each other.
Wednesday, October 11, 2017—Glam Day………try to set a trend; dress to impress (appropriately); can also dress nice and casual

East Elementary's Students for the month for September
Noah Lejeune, a fourth-grade student in Mrs. Vanessa Cormier's Class, was recently awarded an AR award for earning 25 points.
East Elementary PK, 1st graders, and 2nd graders learn about fire safety from members of the Eunice Fire Department.

At the flagpole ceremony, students were recognized in different areas. These students from different grade levels were honored as "Math Cats". Eunice Fire Department did a presentation on fire safety at Eunice Elem. Firefighter Christian Walker talked to the 2nd and 3rd-grade students on the measures to take in the event of a fire. Chief of Police Randy Fontenot asked Ms. Dupre, principal at Eunice Elementary to select a student to ride in the parade. Each teacher submitted the name of students who were on their best behavior and doing well in class. At the Friday flagpole ceremony, the names were placed in a bag and a name was drawn. Gavin S. Fontenot will be riding with the chief of police in the Eunice High Homecoming parade. Pictured with Gavin is Ms. Dupre, the Eunice Elementary principal.

As a yearly service project, Krotz Springs Elementary’s 7th/8th grade 4H members assisted the town employees at the Town of Krotz Springs Senior Citizen Fall Luncheon. Their duties included serving drinks and dessert, cleaning tables, delivering door prizes, and disassembling tables and cleanup.

The SSE P.E. teachers are dressed for success. They are giving formal assessments to students today and wanted students to recognize the importance of the assessments so they dressed for the occasion.

Sunset Middle announces the September Students’ of the Month
Standing firm in her belief that students need to learn financial responsibility at an early age, Ms. Erica LaFountaine Meche wholeheartedly embraced the Everfi program that is available to Journey to Career students in the parish. Because of her innovative ideas, Ms. Meche has been accepted into Everfi’s Fall 2017 Financial Education Teacher Certification Cohort and has received a grant from Entergy to fund her school-based bank and general store.
SMS 4-H celebrated National 4-H Week in grand fashion during the week of October 2. The 4-H club, under the leadership of Mrs. Beverly Riggs, Ms. Erica L. Meche, Ms. Kathy Donatto, and Ms. Amber Plumbar, kicked off the week’s events with an Open House. At this event parents and students learned more about 4-H and the ways in which they can become involved. The St. Landry Parish Extension Agents, Mrs. Lisa Benoit and Mrs. Megan Plattsmier as well as the St. Landry Parish 4-H Junior Leaders were invited to attend. Also, the club held its annual flag raising ceremony at that time.
