Whiskey Rebellion
Alexander Hamilton knew that he needed to put taxes on a steady source of revenue. He proposed an excise tax on whiskey produce in the United States and congress instituted the levy in 1791. The people refuse to pay tax and rebel. George Washington leads 12,000 troops into Pennsylvania.
Constitutional Convention
The constitutional convention was held in Philadelphia to address the problems of weak central government that existed in the Articles of Confederation. This took place from the months of May all the way to September in 1787. James Madison wanted to create a new government rather than fix the existing one. The delegates elected George Washington to preside over the convention.
First Bank of the United States
The first bank of the United States was needed because the government was in debt because of the revolutionary war, and each sate had a different form of currency. Alexander Hamilton was elected first secretary. His job was to create a standard form of currency. First banks Charter was drafted in 1791by the Congress and signed by George Washington.
