#JaguarPride
At JSS, we continue to recognize students who say and do the right thing, especially when no one is looking. Each week, we randomly pick two student Jaguar Cards (submitted into the “Caught in the Matrix” Jaguar Card Bin in the school office) to enjoy a free lunch (made possible by our local eatery/restaurant supporters). Those students have their picture taken and uploaded to the electronic bulletin board in our north entrance lobby. Each Jaguar Card remains in the bin for the entire month, then we start over with an empty bin the next month. 198 JSS students received Jaguar Cards in September, 262 students in October, and another 102 students in November ... for a total of 562 Jaguar Cards so far. We are very proud of all our students living the school pledge each day.
December is a month of great excitement. Thank you for supporting our teachers by having your child attend school, focus on learning, get enough rest and plenty of fresh air. As we close off 2022, we look back at a year of many challenges, but also a time for all of us to take care of ourselves and others. Our students have shown us how to go with things as they happen, ask questions to understand and enjoy all the small things. We continue to learn as much from our amazing students as they learn from us. Our Gift of Giving to others is priceless.Help, make time for, give thanks to and leave positive messages for others.Make this Christmas season extra special by giving your time to others.
Please plan to attend one of our live Christmas Concerts this December in our gymnasium. Our pre-Kindergarten, Monday/Wednesday Kindergarten, and Tuesday/Thursday Kindergarten performance will start at 4 pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 (doors open at 3:30 pm). And, our grade 1 to 5 performances (same concert) will take place at 1:30 pm (doors open at 1 pm) and 7 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm) on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. Thank you to all the teachers for the many hours of preparation for this year’s Christmas concert. Our 4 pm and 7 pm performances will be live streamed. Stay tuned for the link in the weeks to come.

JSS Council & Parents’ Society
JSS Council/Parents’ Society will be having a small concession before each of the 3 Christmas concerts on Dec.20. There will be bottles of water and fresh made popcorn for sale so bring your loonies and toonies!
We have purchased a popcorn machine to replace the one that we no longer have access to. It will be used for fundraising concessions and other events as well as treats for the students and staff for many years to come. It has been missed over the last couple of years and we are excited to be able to have one again.
We will also be providing a food related staff appreciation this month that is yet to be determined.
Thank you to all of the volunteers that show up for Hot Lunch, you are greatly appreciated!
Next Hot Lunch will be Subway on Dec.14 for those who have ordered. It will then resume in the new year.
As the holiday hosting season approaches, please remember that our partnership with Save-On-Foods is ongoing so if you or any of your family or friends shop there please tell the cashier you would like to donate your receipt to Jack Stuart school. You will still get a regular receipt and we will receive 5% back from total purchases monthly. Thank you for supporting our school!
There will not be any meetings this month. We will meet again near the end of January.
