From the Principal
Dear Parents,
It is so great to be back at Crabapple Crossing after a week of vacation with my family in Italy. I say vacation, but it really wasn’t that at all. We were up each day before the sun taking tours and enjoying some amazing history in Rome and Venice. I hope you enjoy a few pics of my travels included here. As expected, our staff and students stayed focused and it was business as usual in my absence. While gone, I missed the Milton homecoming parade, but heard you all had a blast.
As you know, we kicked off GLO and as of Thursday, we have already collected $24,335.10. With School Governance Seed Fund money and my own personal school budget, I have purchased classroom libraries for several grade levels. We have two more grade levels to fund. This total endeavor is over $120,000 for school wide delivery of books. It is my hope we will meet or surpass our GLO goal so we can outfit every classroom with a plethora of fiction and non-fiction texts. I hope you will support GLO because your donations are important in order to meet our school goals for students. We appreciate all you do!
I want to remind you that Book Character Dress Up Day is coming on October 31st. We look forward to seeing what your children will select to portray. This event is another way we foster a love for reading with our students. Just a reminder, dress and props must comply with the student code of conduct handbook. Also, students should have a copy of the book they are representing to share with the class. This is sure to be a fun time for all!
Last week, Mrs. Richardson shared that we are encouraging parent participation in the annual CCRPI parent survey. CCRPI is our school rating and your voice counts. Currently, we have the top rating of 5 stars and would like to maintain that, so take a minute to share your input. It is so important! People seek out homes in the CCES community based on our school climate and academics. Please see link here:
Have a great weekend!
Red Ribbon Week 10/30-11/3
CCES Holiday Food Drive
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Student Ambassadors and CCES will be helping to collect non-perishable food items for North Fulton Community Charities. We will start collecting items on Wednesday, November 1st and continue until Wednesday, November 8th. See the list below of suggested items. Consider getting an item in each category for a family of four or buying several items in one category. Thank you in advance to everyone for helping to make this food drive a success for families in need.
