Social media and other forms of electronic communication have become second nature for everyone. Sometimes our students have lapses in judgment and post things on social media and/or share images via direct messaging that they should not, and the school is forced to deal with the fallout. Schools are also not in the business of policing the social media posts of our student’s parents / guardians. However, if adult actions disrupt daily activities within the school building we may be forced to address those situations as well. The simplest rule for online behavior, and life in general, is to practice the Golden Rule: treat others the way you want to be treated.
