Academics

Math- This week we will review for our Unit 7 test. The test is scheduled for Wednesday. We will then begin our last unit; Geometry. We did already get a few of these lessons in before the M-STEP... so we should be able to jump right into it!

Social Studies - Today students will be taking their Southeast Region quiz. Next up with be the Midwest Region!

Reading - Our reading units are complete! We will be able to use this time for Science and many of the assessments that we must administer at the end of the year (DRA, AIMS WEB, and Smarter Balanced Math Test)

Writing - This week we finish our Poetry Unit by sharing our Anthologies. We will then begin our 6th unit, Research Writing. Each student will be creating a brochure on one of the states.

Science -We were actually able to start our Sun, Earth, and Moon science unit last week! We looked at how shadows change when the light source or object changes position. We also tracked shadows outside over time. This week we will look at how the moon's appearance changes from day to day in a cycle that lasts about a month.

Teacher Notes

APPRECIATED!

Oh my goodness! I just wanted to send out a HUGE thank you for making me feel so special last week! The notes from the kids melted my heart... and when they all showed up in purple (even purple hair!) I got the chills! At first, I thought it was Spirit Week and I somehow missed the memo... then they told me and I just couldn't get over it! Such a cute idea! Thank you for all the snacks and gift cards to. I am extremely appreciative and know how lucky I am to have such a great group of families this year!! Northwood rocks!
