LASE Update 1/11/2016

After consulting with LASE planning partners we felt that coming to LASE on February 5th then turning around and attending one or both days of the FREE CASE Hybrid conference hosted by Springfield on February 11th and 12th may be a bit more time out of the office than most of us can allow.

The CASE Hybrid is a wonderful opportunity to check into what is going on at a national level and have some discussions about the impact on us locally. SO... in order to give everyone the opportunity to attend the CASE Hybrid we will be canceling our regular February 5th LASE meeting. I would encourage each of you to come to the Hybrid conference for one day or if possible both days. Details and a registration link is included a bit further down in this newsletter. You will need to RSVP as soon as possible since meals and registration will be provided courtesy of Rethink and SpedTrack! Collaboration with area directors and free food - what's not to love!

Because of this change we will also put our next Book Study on hold until next Fall!

The meeting minutes from last weeks meeting are up on the LASE website. There is lots of info from legislative issues as well as some info on fiscal monitoring that was brought up in discussions. I have also included all the resources (plus some extras) that were used in our discussion activity on dyslexia.

January Agenda Minutes

Springfield Public Schools will be a hosting site for the CASE Hybrid Conference on February 11th and 12th. We are grateful to Rethink and SpedTrack as they are providing lunch both days, allowing us to make the conference available at no charge! You may register for both days or just one. Handouts will be sent electronically to those registering as they become available (please note that paper copies won't be available at the site).

Please use the following link to register ASAP so they can plan accordingly for lunches.

We will remote into the conference from SPS's new office building located at 1610 East Sunshine on the south side of the road. It is just east of Grove Spa and Oxford Health Care between Oxford and a Phillips 66. It is across the street from Hogan Land and Title. The building is tan, two story and easy to miss as there is not a sign up at this time – hence the landmarks provided!

Here is a link to the conference agenda indicating topics and speakers for both days!

We hope to see you for the CASE Winter Hybrid! Contact Amy Phipps for any futher info -
