First Annual Community Fair
BTC, in partnership with Brooklyn North Command, hosted out first (we hope of many) Community Resource Fair on Sunday, September 24th. Despite heavy rain, we had fantastic attendance- our students, their families, and our local community. Command Chief Scott Henderson and his team supported the event with a clothing closet, backpack and hygiene product giveaways, a food pantry, popcorn, cotton candy and a mobile game truck. BTC staff helped provide BBQ, a barber, hair braiding, make up, massages, face paining and henna tattoos. Participants shopped, ate, danced, and competed for raffle door prizes. A huge thank you to our coordinating staff and volunteers. This was by far our most successful family event, and we owe it to your hard work.

Meet McKinney

Our temporary McKinney site is off to a great school year!

Graduates at AHRC
I bumped into some of our graduates who joined AHRC's Dayhab WIthout Walls program on Monday (Corey, O'Shane, Melanie and Nigel). They all looked great and say hello!

Housekeeping
Please keep the following in mind:
- Classes should move upstairs every day by 8:30 and begin their instructional day. Please leave a paraprofessional in the cafeteria to greet students on late buses.
- Sign in I Pads will be available until 9:30 am. If you arrive late, scan. If you have lost your card see Andrew for a new one ASAP.
- If you are unable to scan because you have lost your card and your phone is also not charged, email your supervising administrator when you arrive, and they will forward the information to Richard.
- If you are late, do not visit the payroll secretary with baked goods, coffee, or other food items. While this generosity is admirable, it can also be perceived as staff members trying to "finesse" time and attendance. This is why you will email your AP.
Preference Forms
Please complete as soon as you can-we need this information for our new schedules.
When filling out this form please remember...This is NOT a preference form.
We are asking how you would like to use your professional activity periods based on your current assignment this year.
Important Work
- Continue SANDI testing for all students
- 408 forms should be completed
- Complete Voc Level One for all students
- Google classrooms should be open with invites to admin by September 30th
- Complete hallway bulletin boards

Shout Out
A HUGE shout out to the team that coordinated our first-ever community resource fair, and to the staff and students who helped make it a success!
Song of the Week
If you were there on Sunday, you felt the energy. Let's keep it up. Here's this year's theme song- working together, we can do anything.
