Message from the Principal
Since the beginning of this school year, students have demonstrated strength, perseverance, and ownership, therefore, it is important to encourage them to continue behaving as star pupils. W.A.V.E. is the perfect means of doing so. W.A.V.E. is the IHCS system of support where teachers teach and recognize positive behavior through the implementation of a data-driven, school-wide program to maximize social, emotional, and academic W.A.V.E. behaviors in all students. We will accomplish our mission by providing a safe and supportive learning environment where students will practice school-wide expectations with teachers and staff serving as positive role models.

You can join at that time by using this Zoom link:
Tech Talk
Be proactive when it comes to your kids’ social media use and digital safety; start having conversations with your kids today!
Go through and check what apps are on your children’s phone on a regular basis
Look at their messages to other people and see what they are posting on social media sites
Check the devices browser history to see what they have been searching
Sit down with your children and talk to them about anything you have concerns about. Explain to them why it concerns you.
Discuss what can be done to resolve any concerns and keep it from happening again in the future
Be honest and straightforward with your children. Talk to them about the consequences of inappropriate use of technology Set boundaries and rules with them.
Let your kids know that you love them and you want what’s best for them; let them know why you are monitoring their devices
Have conversations with your kids about what kinds of apps they have on their devices
It’s also a good idea to have a printed contract with rules on having a phone that your child can post in their bedroom as a reminder of the responsibilities of having a mobile device. Such rules and guidelines can include turning the phone off every night at 10 pm, never saying anything over text that they wouldn’t tell someone in person, always informing parents of the password to their phone, never taking naked pictures and/or sending pictures of self to other people, etc. It is a great resource for parents and children. You can get one for your child here!
