SHISD Mid-Week Message
Promoting Great Things in a Great School District
SHISD Welcomes Mr. Michael Moore to Lead SH Jr. High
The Spring Hill ISD Board of Trustees approved Mr. Moore as the next principal of SHJH. He is currently an assistant principal in Lindale ISD at E.J. Moss Intermediate School. As a very successful administrator, Mr. Moore was named Region VII Assistant Principal of the Year for 2015. Lindale ISD Superintendent Stan Surratt states that "Mr. Moore is a visionary leader who puts his students, teachers and staff first each and every day. E.J. Moss Intermediate School has been an extremely successful campus and Mr. Moore's leadership is one of the reasons for that great success”
Mr. Moore started his career in the corporate world, and it was not until he pursued his dream of becoming an educator that he truly found his calling. Moore was first a teacher for seven years, and has spent the last four years as an administrator at Lindale ISD. Mr. Moore is pursuing a doctoral degree in education. "Mike Moore exemplifies dedicated school leadership in numerous ways, setting high expectations for students and modeling these traits within himself,” said E.J. Moss Principal Susan Finch. “Utilizing strong leadership with our campus behavior management system, he is fair and firm, while also showing compassion when appropriate.
We welcome Mr. Moore to SHJH and look forward to his leadership.
Kudos
To Mr. Watkins for stepping into the interim principal role and doing a great job. We are glad you are here.
From a parent: I'm not sure if you have had the pleasure of sitting in Jeanette Cobb's class but I can tell you that although she is strict, her kids absolutely thrive. They absolutely love math with her, she has a firm yet encouraging, loving and engaging way with her students. You will easily find hundreds that say Mrs. Cobb was my favorite. I loved math when I was in her class. I tell you she should be the standard to which we hold our district to. It just speaks volumes that a kid can hate math yet come out of her class loving it. She is a true gem to our district and shows that teachers have an impact as to whether or not the students are engaged and loving to learn.
