CMS GRATITUDE DAY!!!
CMS Gratitude Day started with a research project in ELA. Ava and I decided to do our project on Gratitude Journaling. After we finished presenting our project to the class, Mrs. Palen suggested that we should make gratitude journaling a school activity. She encouraged us to talk to the interim principal, Ms. Huckabee. It was a huge success and quick as a flash we were preparing for a school-wide “Gratitude Day”! We met with the amazing Mrs. Powers and the wondrous Mrs. Bland too. They helped us design a google site and put up the bright and colorful Gratitude poster in the hallway. On Monday, March 21 we held the first CMS “Gratitude Day”. Seventh and eighth-grade students wrote gratitude notes on colorful sticky notes and stuck them on our Gratitude poster. (by: Kinsey Johnson) Our History with Gratitude Kinsey: My mom loves gratitude. Whenever my mom was on social media she posted what she was grateful for that day. She always made sure that our family practiced gratitude. She was the one who gave me my first gratitude journal, and as the saying goes like mother, like daughter. Gratitude does not get enough credit for how awesome gratitude is. It is something that has improved my life so much and I am excited to see it get more popular and improve more lives. Ava: Before our research project I didn't know a thing about gratitude or Gratitude Journaling. I started researching about it with Kinsey, and I saw how much it helped other people. I'm so glad that our idea has taken off, and people around the school have started Gratitude Journaling. I think that gratitude journaling will make the school a better place for students and teachers alike. I am so excited to see Gratitude Day grow and grow.
