Important Information for Parents / Whanau

Thank you all Staff, BoT and whanau who attended Whanau hui. Sadly there were not many parents at this event who were neither Staff or Board of Trustees members. We are aiming to gather thoughts, ideas, hopes and dreams from you as parents/ whanau to assist us move Inglewood Primary in an exciting future focussed direction.

Our Raukura Kapa Haka performers were exemplary as were speaker Anahera Martin and Noah Dalliston.

Please take the time to complete our School Survey. We undertake community surveys every three years so this is your year.

Property News

Our current roll at Inglewood Primary is 383 and this is increasing as our Inglewood Community expands with housing development. Currently there are approximately eighty new house and land packages being developed with the potential for more. This is fabulous news for Inglewood and the wider community.

While we work in partnership with the Ministry of Education Property and Lead advisory Teams, crafting the design plans for our six already allocated new buildings, together with the addition of the allocation as of this week, we appreciate our fabulous staff who are utilising every possible space at IPS for teaching and learning purposes.

We are very thankful to the tireless work behind the scenes from members of our past and current BoT Property Team, Senior Leaders and Ministry of Education which has enabled the allocation of the additional classroom.

We are excited to be welcoming and meeting our new whanau and tamariki as we continue to grow.

Inglewood AFC U13 football team have had an amazing year, nearly making it through the season undefeated which lead to them making it into the 13th Grade Youth Finals held on Saturday. After a well-fought game and some awesome play, unfortunately, the final result didn’t go their way with a loss against Oakura Sharks. Congratulations to Breeze Woodham, Mya Hitchcock, Roche Broadmore and Skyler Woodham proudly wearing their runners up medals.

Final tournament for IPS stars won 1 & 2 draws.

The netball tournament was last weekend and was great to see our school team win their division. Well done Inglewood Stars, what an awesome end to the outdoor season

Safety Concerns/Near Misses On Crossings

1 parent has offered help so far! We need more help. (Buddy up with someone)

There have been a number of problems on the Miro Street pedestrian crossing. The traffic and congestion are making it difficult for our young students to manage. We need parents to step up and support us with manning this morning 0830-0855 and afternoon 1455-1515, like our few lovely volunteers are doing now. HELP please. Contact the office to add your name to the roster assist with the safety of our children. Many hands make light work. We would like to not have students manning this in the near future as the traffic is increasing.

Prohibition of Devices

The elearning team led by Mrs Alice Smith have our new ICT User Agreements ready to distribute. These went out in hard copy to all students this week. Please ensure you read them WITH your child, sign them and return them to the Office. Debbie and Mia will document the returned agreements and those students will be the first to access the devices Wednesday. Please note, if we do NOT have the agreement back, for your child/children there will be NO access for them to our school devices.
