Need to know

Canadian Government Travel Protocols: Please refer to COVID-19: For unvaccinated children under 12 without symptoms and travelling with fully vaccinated parents or guardians for information regarding travel outside of Canada. Please scroll down and pay special attention to the section titled “What your child cannot do for the next 14 days” for particulars on his return to school after travel.

Face masks: Please ensure that your child is equipped with an ample supply of disposable face masks as it is imperative that he has a new face mask each day. A back-up supply should be packed in his backpack in case he needs to replace it. Your child will be sent home with two boxes of child size masks on the first day of school.

Your Daily Morning Covid Check Made Easier: Check out this COVID-19 Symptom Self-Assessment Tool from the Quebec Government’s website. This self-assessment tool is not intended to be a substitute for medical attention. Always follow the healthcare professional’s instructions.

No Drop-Offs please: Parents are asked not to drop off items for their sons. Students need to remember to pack what they need for the day in their backpacks. We are trying to limit movement of all students in the school.

Staggered Start ~ First Days of School

In order to help students adapt to the new routines outlined, we will have a staggered entry by grade during the first week of school. We invite ONE adult per child to accompany their child into the yard to meet their new teacher. Everyone must wear a mask at all times. Thank you for your understanding and compliance. See below for particulars for each grade.

  • Grades 1, 3, 5, Tuesday, August 31 at 8:30 for the full day (grades 2,4,6 to stay at home)

    • Grade 1 should enter the Old Boys’ (East) yard through the Argyle gates

    • Grade 3 should enter through the Arches (near the Veritas statue) and gather at the south end of the Guzzo (West) yard

    • Grade 5 should enter through the back alley next to the police station and gather at the north end of the Guzzo (West) yard

  • Grades 2, 4, 6 Wednesday September 1 at 8:30 for the full day (grades 1,3,5 to stay at home)

End of Summer Gryphon Sale Tally: A wholehearted thank you to everyone who took the time to drop off donations; the racks and tables were literally overflowing! Thanks to your generosity and to all of you who joined us this past Monday, we raised a record breaking $10,065 for the Nancy Pitfield Endowment fund which is used to offer a one-year partial bursary to a student in Grade 7. What a wonderful way to start off the school year! The next Gryphon Sale is slated for January 2022, details to follow. Until then, please continue to drop off any gently used uniform articles you may have in the bins located just inside the front door of the school.
