Tech You Have To Try
Blooket
Kahoot and Quizizz are great but are you looking for something different this year that not every teacher at your school is using to review? Try Blooket! The way it works is that a teacher/host picks a question set and a unique game mode. Then, we generate a code that players can use to join the game on their own devices. After the game starts, players will answer questions to help them win. That’s where the fun starts, because we offer a variety of games to keep students engaged and excited! Gimkit Live
Here's another great way to engage your students that not everyone is using.... Gimkit Live. What separates this game/engagement tool is the unique style of play that can keep the game feeling fresh from one game to the next. With constant updates, new modes, and powerups, the game your students play today may not be what your students play tomorrow. By answering questions correctly students earn in-game cash they can use to purchase upgrades or power-ups to use during gameplay. Gimkit is a great way to build learning but also incorporates strategic gameplay used by many online video games or apps. To learn more click here.
Tiki-Toki
Are you looking for a new way for your students to display projects or information? Tiki-Toki is a great way for students to display the life span or events of a person or time period, a personal diary or life events, history of your family, or what they did over the summer. Tiki-Toki creates beautiful timelines that can be represented in 3-D, integrate videos from YouTube, and pictures as well. Here are a couple of examples example1 and example2. If you want to learn more click here.
SMMRY
The beginning of school is always full of lots of information to read. Here's one for all those long emails, long texts, news stories, or articles. SMMRY takes any text and summarizes the context into a set number of sentences. Paste an article, text or essay into the text box to get a summarized version. But that's not all you can also upload a pdf, or txt file or paste the url or a web article online to get a summary as well. You can determine how many sentences you'd like SMMRY to shorten the text into, the default is 7. To learn more or start using SMMRY click here.
