FROM THE PRINCIPAL
LEES Families,
It was great to see everyone after Spring Break! I hope everyone enjoyed time with family and friends!
We have several recognitions from this past week. Congratulations go to Missy Mathias, who was voted by the staff as the 2023 LEES Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Mathias has been instrumental in guiding the staff as they implement LETRS (RCPS’ reading initiative) with our students this year. We are grateful to have Mrs. Mathias at LEES!
Also, congratulations to Kai Wenger, who placed third out of all RCPS elementary school students in the Virginia School Boards Association Art Contest. We are very proud of Kai!
Our third - fifth graders enjoyed meeting local author, Lori Mier, this week as she shared her book titled, Merin and Her Very Bright Star: A Story of Resiliency. There is a bookmark pictured below with a QR code for any families that may want to purchase the book.
Our next PTO Domino’s Spirit Night is Tuesday, March 29. We are inviting all students and staff to wear their school shirts that day!
Just a reminder that Friday, April 1, is an early release at 1:00 PM for students.
I hope everyone has a terrific weekend!
Mrs. Ridder
Author Visit
LEES had a visit from a local author this week. Lori Mier came to read her book, "MERIN And Her Very Bright STAR." Third, fourth, and fifth graders took turns in the gym listening to Ms. Mier's story. Afterward, there was a brief question and answer session with the author.
If you would like to order the book, scan the QR code below with your phone camera.
