The Student Athletic Training Aide program (SATA) has been designed for high school

students interested in pursuing a career in athletic training, sports medicine, or other related medical professions. The goal is to foster a positive, safe learning environment where students benefit from the instruction and observation of qualified health care professionals. These students commit their school year to aiding in the wellbeing of Mustang’s student athletes. Students shadow the certified athletic trainers; learn basic first aid, injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques, prophylactic taping, nutrition and hydration education, and are the eyes and ears on the field for assistance in recognition of athletic injuries

CHEER PREVIEW

A Message from Coach Walker:

This is the largest and possibly the most talented team we have ever had. Not only that, but all 38 of them get along very well. We have been hard at work with our new team since school got out in May, and we are excited about the opportunities this new year will bring our athletes. We have the comfort and trust of many athletes returning to our program as well as the excitement of welcoming some new girls. We are incredibly optimistic about all aspects of this year, and we are anxiously awaiting football season and our first competitions of the year!

When asked about this season, here is what Coach McGarry had to say:

This year we have our top 3 boys returning so I'm hopeful that we can be in the top 5 again. We have a several runners that are competing to make the top 7. That is always a plus when you have good competition in practice every day. It will be an exciting season for us for sure.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY PREVIEW

Here are a few words from Coach Osborne:

The girls team is looking to continue their consecutive streak to 28 years straight qualifying for the state meet. We have several new young runners this year who are showing great potential for this season. Several varsity spots have opened up this year and it will be exciting to see who steps up to fill those roles.

FAST PITCH SOFTBALL PREVIEW

A message from Coach Darity:

We are excited about the group of young women we have for the 2023 fastpitch season. This is a veteran team with seven seniors who are tremendous leaders, and we are excited for them to lead our talented underclassmen. We will use the momentum gained from our State Championship in the spring to push us toward our goals in faspitch. Our core values of accountability, mental toughness, and family will guide us through a tough state-wide district into another deep playoff run. We look forward to the challenges of the 2023 season and representing the Mustang Softball Program in the right way.

VOLLEYBALL PREVIEW

Here's a message from Coach Newman on this year's volleyball team and season:

The 2023 Mustang Volleyball Team is a tight nit group. These girls have an amazing work ethic and love for each other. We are a balanced group and represented by each class, freshman thru Senior. We have shown that our defensive mentality will be one of our strengths that we can lean on in competition. This pre-season the girls put up a record of 33-5, beating multiple teams that we have not beat in the last couple of years. Our goal this year is to bring our mental focus and defensive play into the start of the season. Playing fearless, having fun, and holding one another to the Bronco Volleyball Standard is what this family is all about this year.
