Marina Dukovskaya just wants to become the ballerina she knows she could be. Endless practice, long tiring routines and high standards but unexpectedly that would all change. Marinas mother unexpectedly disappeared into the soviet state. Suddenly marinas days don't revolve around ballet anymore. Marina and her father feared of welfare and left there life in Moscow and found themselves alone in new york. Marina begins to settle inBrooklyn and returns to dancing finding a place to dance in Juilliard. Marina ends up meeting ben an earlier emigrant to the U.S. Marina gets support from ben and affection that she has sought from her mother for years
