Virtual Reality
Students were engaged as they traversed Mt. Everest, explored the wildlife in Greenland, and scaled the karst mountains of China. Mrs. Fries used this time to build the background knowledge of students in geology. Now students will have a greater understanding of how glacier movement changes the topography of an area because they have seen it.
Many other teachers will be using the VR in the next 2 weeks. Some will explore the Human Body Systems while others will be visiting the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C.
If you want to take your students on an adventure, reserve the VR cart from Mrs. Massey.
Email me your themes/locations/lessons that you would like to explore and I will see if Google Expeditions has a trip already created. I am happy to come into your room and co-teach a few periods until you become comfortable with the technology.
