STAFF RECOGNITION HIGHLIGHT
Mrs. Pedelty teaches 6th & 8th-grade Social Studies and 6th-grade Focus-CS First and 8th- grade Focus-Kahn Academy at Hemlock Middle School. She has been teaching in the district for 13 years. Her family includes husband Norm and children, Josiah (8), Rosalina (5), Theodore (1).
Mrs. Pedelty earned her Master’s Degree in Middle-Level Education at Central Michigan University and also completed coursework at Walden University. Mrs. Pedelty likes to spend her spare time with her family, working out, going on family bike rides, completing home projects, reading and traveling. Her favorite book is The Hamilton Affair. Her favorite quote is “Every day ordinary people do extraordinary things." She had a great summer, including bobsledding in Park City, UT. Mrs. Pedelty’s all-time favorite place visited is San Diego.
Mrs. Pedelty loves teaching, saying she is proudest when students set high goals for themselves and go on to achieve them throughout the year. She believes in her students’ potential and strives to be observant. She treats all her students individually, separating their strengths from their weaknesses. This helps her tailor strategies aimed at helping them to harness their strengths and overcome their weaknesses and adapt to student needs.
