News You Can Use
I can't believe that it is already December. Time is going by fast. Even though report cards just went out, Progress Reports are just around the corner. Hard to believe, but we are approaching the halfway point of the Second quarter. Be on the lookout for more information coming on Progress Reports.
Wednesday WIN Days, What I Need, are going to be structured differently from now on for team 71/81. All students will meet with each of their academic teachers for a 30 minute class check in. Student schedule for my homeroom is posted in google classroom. At 1:30, any student who failed one or more classes first quarter are required to meet on Mr. Silva's zoom for a mandatory meeting with their academic teachers. We will be using that time to meet with students in an academic support class.
As always, if you have any questions please contact me. kclark@lowell.k12.ma.us
All my best,
Mrs. Clark

This Month in History
December 1, 1955 - The birth of the modern American civil rights movement occurred as Rosa Parks was arrested in Montgomery, Alabama, for refusing to give up her seat to a white man and move to the back section of a municipal bus. Her arrest resulted in a year-long boycott of the city bus system by African Americans and led to legal actions ending racial segregation on municipal buses throughout the South.
December 8, 1941 - A day after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the United States and Britain declared war on Japan.
December 17, 1903 - After three years of experimentation, Orville and Wilbur Wright achieved the first powered, controlled airplane flights. They made four flights near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, the longest lasting about a minute.
