Hello, Parents!
It's been a lovely week at MDCA! Our elementary teachers are working diligently to make sure our students are ready to move on up to the next grade in August. I couldn't be more proud of the way everyone is buckling down and finishing strong!
I hope you and your family are making plans to attend our elementary play, The Enchantment of Beauty and the Beast. The shows will be tonight and tomorrow night at 7:00 and Sunday afternoon at 2:00. Our students have worked countless hours to deliver an unforgettable performance.
As you probably know, we had our second armed intruder drill today. I was so proud of the way our students and teachers handled themselves. They were serious and moved with a sense of purpose. An armed intruder on campus is my absolute worst nightmare. I am so thankful to work with a leadership team that makes the safety of MDCA students our top priority. Please join me in daily prayer for God's constant protection over our campus and students.
Please make plans to join us on Monday, April 22, for our Movin' On Up event. Childcare will be provided by members of our Key Club in the elementary after care rooms. We will all meet together in the auditorium then parents will visit in classrooms. We should be finished by 8:00. We hope to see you all there.
Our MAP testing will begin the week of April 22. Students will take the reading portion. The math MAP will be the week of April 29. Grades 2-5 will take the language portion the week of May 6. I'm so excited to see how our children have grown since we tested in the fall.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
Love,
Mrs. Nichols
