Holiday Parties
We will have holiday parties on Thursday, 12/17 and Friday,12/18. We are not sending an open invitation to parents for holiday parties. One or two parents may attend if they are volunteering in the classroom. All parties should be no more than one hour and from 1:30 - 2:30 with the exception of 3rd grade. If you are ordering food for holiday parties please make sure to streamline your orders through your grade level chair. You will need to place the order and give your grade level chair a labeled envelope with the order, money, name, and contact number of the vendor included. Please have these orders to your grade level chair the day prior to your party. Grade level chairs will turn in all orders to Camilia Davisson by 8:00 am the day of the party. Many grade levels have stated that they will be watching holiday videos on the afternoon of Friday,12/18. Please make sure that these videos support the AKS and are approved by our media center. Teaching and learning are still occurring throughout the final days before break. Please be reminded we will still be conducting formative evaluations prior to the break.

Busy Season, Busy Life ... By Jacki Sellmansberger
Of course, all of us know these next 2 weeks are going to fly by! There is so much to be done! I am already tired just thinking of all I have to do before next Monday! But here’s what I want to encourage us all to do in the 15 days we have left before Christmas, every single day, STOP, and TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO JUST COLLECT YOUR THOUGHTS AND FOCUS ON YOURSELF! Sounds a little selfish right now, doesn’t it? But I know for me, I will be better able to give to others, if I give to myself first, the GIFT OF A FEW MINUTES TO BREATHE QUIETLY.
I am really excited about all the activities we have going on next week. So many of you are coming to the STAFF HOLIDAY PARTY…lots of good food, fun, laughter, and fellowship! There will be some great DRAWINGS, as well! YUMMY FOODall week long with all the good snacks! Be sure to check the list for which day your team will be bringing snacks. The SCARF MAN will be back on Wednesday.
Carmencita Martinez (ESOL) had a death in her family last week, and has a young nephew who is seriously ill. Please keep her family in your prayers. Continue to remember Jocelyn Garrison and Cynthia Saffo as they recover. Remember Jason and Chioma Onwubiko in your prayers as they fly to Africa this week for their daughter’s wedding.
