Principal's Message
It is hard to believe that we are this close to the end of the school year. While this year has had its share of challenges, it has also been a memorable and rewarding school year. Our School Staff is exceptionally proud of all our students' progress.
It is that time of year when we assess what our students have learned using different assessment tools, one being the California Assessment Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), which will take place May 16-27. Please support your child to do their best by ensuring they get enough sleep, attend school on time, and very importantly, not schedule appointments during the testing period.
This Week is ALL Staff and Teacher Appreciation Week! Students can record a special message for our staff using Fliggrid, a link was sent to your child's e-mail. Please help them with this task, as our team has worked hard to support all our kids to learn and thrive academically and socially.
In May, we also honor an important national holiday which is spent remembering those that have given their lives for our country, Memorial Day, which will be recognized on Monday, May 30th. There will be no school on that day to honor the fallen heroes.
Our staff is also looking forward to seeing you at our Open House on Thursday, May 5th.
SPRING TEACHER CONFERENCE WEEK MAY 9-13TH
Parent-teacher Conference Week will take place May9-13. Be aware that not all students will receive a parent conference appointment. Teachers will send out parent conference notices to students who would benefit from a parent-teacher conference during the school year. If you wish to schedule a parent-teacher meeting, please notify your student's teacher, and they will gladly set up an appointment.

Start The Day Off Right!
Student Safety 1st During Drop-Off and Pick-Up
When picking up and dropping off your students at school, ideally, we would ask that you park on a side street or in the school parking lot and walk your student to a school entrance.
Front Bus Zone: If you must drop off or pick up your student at the front of the school, please DO NOT park in the bus zone. The bus zone is clearly marked with a sign, yellow lines, and cones. Drivers parking in the bus zone will be asked to move.
Rear Parking Lot: If you drop off or pick up students at the side gate of the rear parking lot, please stay to the right, nearest the yellow line at the fence. Staying to the right will allow other vehicles to exit around those vehicles still waiting for their student(s).
Jerry Drive and Lillian Drive Gates: There are two gates at the rear of the Bard playground which are available for student pick-up or drop-off. The gates at the Jerry Drive and Lillian Drive cul de sacs are staffed during pick-up and drop-off times and are significantly less crowded. The Jerry Drive and Lillian Drive gates are excellent pick-up and drop-off area alternatives.
Thank you for your cooperation!
