Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures for Summer Session 2
- All students not riding the bus should use the front entrance to the school on Tolman Creek Rd.. Families driving their students may use the drop off loop out front.
- Please do not stop your car in front of the school door to let your child out of the car. Instead, pull all the way to the front of the loop to make room for other families to drop off their students behind you so that we don't get traffic backed up into the street.
- Do not get out of your car for any reason in the drop off circle. Make sure your child exits on the right side of the car and is ready to get out when you stop.
- If your child needs assistance for any reason with their seatbelt or managing their things, please park your car to help them and walk them over to the sidewalk.
- Students arriving between 8:40-8:55 will have some free choice activities before the bell rings to go to class.
- Students arriving at 8:55 can report directly to class.
- Students arriving after 9:00 will need to report to the office to check in.
STUDENT PICK UP PROCEDURES:
- Students in Grades 1-3 will be picked up in the lower pick up loop at the end of the primary wing of the school. There is a separate entrance and exit to this loop so you don't have to mix with the cars for the other grades.
- Students in grades 4-8 will be picked up in the circle in front of the main entrance to the school.
- Siblings will go to the location of the youngest sibling's grade
- School is over at 3:00. That means your student will not be available to be picked up until after 3:00. Please do not arrive to the parking lot earlier than about 2:55 at the earliest to pick up your child. This causes traffic to back up on the street and gridlock in the parking lot that is not fun for any of us, or our neighbors. Traffic flows freely once the students are outside and ready to go. If you aim to arrive right at 3:00, that will probably work best, after that traffic is flowing!

Smoke Protocols
See the chart below for when we would allow outdoor activities vs. needing to stay indoors. We will have outdoor recess unless we are in the unhealthy range. If your child is in a sensitive group and needs to be indoors when we are in the orange zone, please let your child's teacher and the office know, and we will make alternative arrangements for them.
Current CDC Covid Level for Jackson County: Some Risk
Covid Protocols For Summer School
We will be using the CDC community risk thresholds to base our decisions on. We will be using a system that will match those levels for low risk, some risk and high-risk scenarios. Moving into the 2022-23 school year, here are the guidelines we will be following:
Low Risk: When our community Covid numbers are at low risk on the CDC county dashboard, we will continue with business as usual at school, no masks required. As always, we ask that you keep your students home if they are sick with any kind of symptoms.
Some Risk: When we see our community numbers and hospitalizations rise, we would ask that our high-risk students and staff consider wearing a mask at school to protect themselves, and that every family consider having their student wear a mask to protect others, but it would still be optional.
High Risk: When our community Covid numbers and hospitalizations fall in the high-risk category, masks will be required indoors at school for all students and staff. Our highest priority is keeping kids at school with in-person instruction. If we have too many staff out due to illness, it can be difficult at best to keep schools open.
The CDC County based metrics are posted here and updated every Friday: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/covid-by-county.html
