Transition Night for CCR3 Students
The Tim Green Experience
PLATTSBURG TIMES
By: Bradley Dunivan
Tim Green, a former NFL Atlanta Falcons football player turned writer traveled to the East Buchanan School District to inspire 3rd-8th graders from CCR3 and East Buch. Tim Green is a best-selling author that mainly writes sport stories. This event took place on Thursday, March 30 and was also open to the public. Mr. Green told students about his experiences in writing.
Tim Green studied writing at Syracuse University where he also became a All-American football player. He was later drafted in the first round of the NFL draft by the Atlanta Falcons. While he played in the NFL he studied law and began his writing career. In the meantime, he was the top defensive player for 8 years in a row! Mr. Green retired from the NFL in 1994 and published his first book shortly after. He also became a lawyer. That is impressive.
His latest book is called Baseball Genius co-authored with baseball great, Derek Jeter.
It is easy to say that all the kids had a great time with Tim Green.
367 Garage Sale A Hugh Success

The PHS 367 Club hosted a garage sale in the gym last Saturday in hopes to raise money for their reward trip in May. It was a lot of work, but with the help of many who donated countless items, the one day sale raised $2300. I wanted to find out what it was like to work on this big project, I asked some of the students that helped out.
Trynitee Payan loved it. When asked if she could change one thing about the garage sale she said she would change nothing!
Santa Childs and Heaven Langton helped pick up donations for the sale and worked all day. When asked what was the most interesting thing that they saw, Heaven said a leash for a ferret and Santa said she was freaked out there were bras!
Elizabeth Bartee said she helped with her muscles and hard work! When I asked her what she would change if we had another garage sale she said she would change the prices. Too cheap!
The 367 Club is traveling to Minneapolis, MN, May 15th-17th. There are many activities planned which include watching a Twins game, shopping at Mall of America, and visiting Lake Calhoun.
There are 80 students that qualified first semester. For second semester, club members must maintain a 3.67 GPA, participate in a fundraiser, and continue to be good citizens of the school. That is what it takes to qualify for the trip. The qualifiers will be announced in April! This semester, the 367 Club has raised over $13,000.
