Roadrunner Fun Run 9/15
Wednesday, 9/15 Schedule:
- 8 am PK3, PK4, Kinder, and 1st Grades
- 9 am 2nd, 3rd, and 5th Grades
- 10 am 4th Grade
Parents are invited to attend and cheer on your student! Please park in the back parking lot and sign in at the visitor table near the fun run tracks. You do not need to visit the front office first.
Tips for students:
- Bring a water bottle
- Wear tennis shoes
- Have fun!
ELL, GT, & Dyslexia Parent Meetings
Dyslexia Parent Meeting
- 5 pm in the Cafeteria
- Park in the rear parking lot and enter at the Cafeteria doors
Meadows Dyslexia staff will review the identification of students, 504 plans & accommodations, and how dyslexic children can be assisted in the classroom and at home. They'll finish up with a demonstration of what your child does during his/her lessons.
Gifted & Talented (GT) Parent Meeting
- 5 pm in the Library
- Park in the front parking lot and enter the front door
English Language Learners (ELL) Parent Meeting
- 5 pm in the Gym
- Park in the rear parking lot and enter the Gym doors
Meadows ELL staff will discuss what the ESL program is at Meadows, how students are identified, what it means for students, and provide resources for parents and students to utilize at home for greater success.
Progress Reports 9/15
Your child's first progress report will be sent home in their backpack on Wednesday, 9/15.
In addition to progress reports and report cards, grades can be checked through the KISD Home Access Center. Click the link below for more information on accessing your student's information.
Home Access Center (HAC) is a web-based student information system that provides parents, guardians, and students the means to view student demographic, attendance, discipline, scheduling, classwork, progress report, and report card information.
From the KISD 21-22 Elementary Grading Handbook, which references Education Code 28.0216 and KISD Administrative Procedures IV-Q:
- A student shall be permitted one opportunity to redo any assignment or retake any test for which the student received a failing grade. The student or parent must request the additional opportunity within 10 days of the grade being posted in the grade book.
- Must be 19 years of age (Elementary and Middle School) and 21 years of age (High School).
- Must have 12 credit hours or 2 years of experience employed in a position working or volunteering with children (e.g. daycare, camps, or coaching)
- At least 2 supervisor references with valid email addresses.
- Able to work at least 5 days per semester.
