Perspective #1

Some pros about the Vietnam War was the war made people obligated to serve the government even when it was wrong.

-The war was a means of containing Communism.

-It was one of the most televised wars in history

-It set a standard for wartime journalism

-If the US hadn’t participated, the non-Communist peoples of South Vietnam would have been persecuted even more than they were.

-The fate of those millions who suffered so greatly under the Communists after the fall of the South shows that it was right to assist the non-Communists in opposing them.

Perspective #2

Some cons of the Vietnam war was the that we attacked them even though they didn't attack us and we violated the international law.

-The USA bombed Cambodia and Laos, too – breaking more laws, with even less justification.

-Many non-communists in Vietnam opposed the southern government, because it was so corrupt and so oppressive.

-The Viet Cong used guerrilla warfare, something us Americans don't know how to fight.

-The orange agent killed thousands of Vietnam people. Some side effects of it are prostate cancer, respiratory cancers, multiple myeloma, type II diabetes mellitus, Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and soft tissue sarcoma.

-Martin, L King assassination on April 4, 1968. Robert F, Kennedy assassination on June 6, 1968. John ,F Kennedy assassination on November 22, 1963.

Media Bias

The Vietnam War was the first war ever to be televised to the people of america. Americans saw the bloodshed and hardship of warfare. In some instances children of Vietnam would call over american troops and then blow themselves killing dozens. Then when they televised American soldiers killing children they were called "baby killers" not knowing that these kids could kill dozens of American soldiers with a push of a button. The Pentagon paper incident really opened up to how the government is keeping the public in the dark about the war.

Criticism #1

The Vietnam war really showed how far someone would go to protect their country. when The Afghan war started it became the most televised war ever. It went world wide were every single person in the world can see what's happening in Afghanistan. Troops are more alert about people approaching them because of the Vietnam war. The military now train soldiers for almost anything that could happen in war.

Criticism #2

A symbol of peace was the most known thing during the Vietnam War. The POW MIA sign was made during the Vietnam war. People wanted peace because just 10 years ago America was in WW 2. Americans were tired of bloodshed and killing.
