News from School Counselor Mr. Levine
The Kings Road School Student Council will be leading its first initiative this year, a Thanksgiving food drive to benefit the patients of the Overlook Medical Center Health Start Clinic. We are fortunate that one of our second-grade parents, Erin Donadio, is a volunteer at this clinic and will be helping facilitate this food drive. If you would like more information on the project, feel free to email her directly: Erin.Donadio@gmail.com
In order to streamline the collection we are asking each grade to donate a specific item.
Kindergarten: Boxes of Mac and Cheese
1st Grade: Boxes of Stuffing
2nd Grade: Packets (envelopes) of gravy mix.
3rd Grade: Packets (envelopes) of instant oatmeal.
4th Grade: Boxes of instant mashed potatoes.

Items can be brought to your child’s homeroom teacher. Please deliver all items no later than Monday, November 14th. The grade that collects the highest number of items will receive a special prize!

KRS Cougar Reading Challenge
The 2022-23 KRS COUGAR READING CHALLENGE BEGAN SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1!
This year-long reading challenge is completely optional and a fun way to get our students reading at home!
Each month, students should keep track of how many minutes they are reading at home on this calendar.
Those minutes can include reading you are doing for reading logs, homework, minutes spent listening to an audiobook or read aloud on the computer (such as bookflix), or minutes spent being read to by an adult. This is not an extra assignment- If you are reading for homework, include that reading here too!
Each month, there are different challenges to complete that can earn you an extra 100 minutes to add to your total!
At the end of the month, add up all of your minutes!
