Dear Parents / Carers,
Lord, Help me to be grateful for what I have, to remember that I do not need most of what I want and that joy is found in simplicity and generosity. Amen
This week has been particularly challenging for many people. I am sure everyone is beginning to feel the strain of being at home for days on end, with very little sign of change in the immediate future. As we approach half term it seems that each day is very much like the last but at least a week without the demands of remote learning will be a welcome break. The whole staff team are extremely impressed with the determination shown by all of the children who are continuing to work hard and make progress. Thank you parents for all you are doing to enable this.
A reminder that tomorrow is a training day and so there will be no work set and next week is half term. We return to teaching and learning on Monday 22nd February when we are hoping for good news about reopening in some form or other.
Enjoy the simple things during the break,
Mrs Karen Williams

Whizz Pop Bang’s Seven Days of Science Challenge
This week we are continuing to explore the theme Express Yourself.
A big part of our expression can be thinking about what the future holds for us,
what does your child dream of for the future? In a time of such uncertainty
this can be a reminder that this too shall pass, and the future will hold just as
many possibilities as it did before. Use this Compass Buzz resource to help you
discuss your child’s aspirations for the future.
Each of us are unique in our own way, whether it is portrayed in how we like to
dress, or the hobbies we take part in or skills that we have – difference is
beautiful. We all have qualities that make us unique, that make us special, this
Compass Buzz resource helps your child to celebrate what is special about them.

Online Safety - A message from North Yorkshire Police
Well what an alternative few weeks, here a Friends HQ, we are
looking forward to Half Term and hope that you all are too.
Whilst reflecting on the year gone by, it seems unreal that the last fundraising activity we held was exactly a year ago on the last day of the half term on 14th February selling 144 Krispy Kreme doughnuts outside the office in the bitter cold and rain to a lot of happy excited faces.
Friends has had a whole year not doing our usual activities such as disco's, fairs,
selling doughnuts to mention a few. This does not mean that we have disappeared
nor does it mean that these won't resume when it is safe to do so.

Also, we are posting up a prayer post box outside at church.
If children would like us to pray with them for something, then we are encouraging them to write and decorate a leaf shape prayer (template below) and then walk down with parents to post it.
I will add any prayer leaves to our prayer tree at school assembly and at 'virtual; Facebook live assembly.
