January Midterm/Regents Week Schedule
Please see the following structure for our January Midterm/Regents week:
Grade 6: Classes will be in session the entire week 1/22-1/26
Grades 7 and 8: Classes will be in session 1/22-1/25 (There will be no classes for these grades on 1/26)
Grades 9/12: Classes will be in session on 1/22. These students will then only report to school if they have an exam on 1/23-1/25 (There will be no classes for these grade levels on 1/26).
This year we will be administering the English Regents to all Grade 11 students on January 23 at 8:00a.m. In the past, the majority of Juniors have taken the English Regents in June. The reasoning for the change largely revolves around easing the testing load for students at the end of the year and choosing a predominantly skill based subject area for students to test on. Students will have the option to retake this test in June if they wish to try to improve their score.
The actual testing schedule, including meal and transportation information will be communicated through ParentSquare following the Holiday Recess.
Chemistry
Chemistry students test the solubility of substances.
Upcoming dates to note:
- Band Concert (Grades 6-12) : December 13 from 7:00-9:00p.m. in the HCS Auditorium
- Choir Concert (Grades 6-12): December 20 from 7:00-9:00p.m. in the HCS Auditorium
- Holiday Recess (No Classes in session): December 25-January 2
We will see students back at HCS on Wednesday, January 3, 2024! (Happy New Year!)
