What We Are Learning...

Math: Chapter Three is all about 3 digit by 2 digit multiplication. Please continue to practice multiplication facts with your child, especially if they are struggling with them. Our math test will be coming up soon!

Social Studies: Students have been learning about the United States government the past few weeks. We have discussed the three branches of government: legislative, judicial, and executive.

Writing: Students have finished up their personal narratives and are working on explanatory papers. They have been learning how to use dialogue in their writing, which is a difficult skill.

Science: In Mystery Science students are exploring how energy can make things go. They are experimenting with rubber-band cars this week to figure out how much energy the cars need to end up in the "Sweet Spot."

PE-Nut: This year your child will be participating in the Physical Education and Nutrition program with Mrs. Bauer. She will be in our room about once a month to introduce students to nutrition concepts, as well as trying new foods. Our first lesson will be November 29th. Be sure to visit for great ideas from the USDA on the Choose My Plate website.
