What We Are Learning...

Math: Chapter Three is all about 3 digit by 2 digit multiplication. Please continue to practice multiplication facts with your child, especially if they are struggling with them. Our math test will be coming up soon!

Social Studies: Students have been learning about the United States government the past few weeks. We have discussed the three branches of government: legislative, judicial, and executive.

Writing: Students have finished up their personal narratives and are working on explanatory papers. They have been learning how to use dialogue in their writing, which is a difficult skill.

Science: In Mystery Science students are exploring how energy can make things go. They are experimenting with rubber-band cars this week to figure out how much energy the cars need to end up in the "Sweet Spot."

PE-Nut: This year your child will be participating in the Physical Education and Nutrition program with Mrs. Bauer. She will be in our room about once a month to introduce students to nutrition concepts, as well as trying new foods. Our first lesson will be November 29th. Be sure to visit https://www.choosemyplate.gov/Supertracker/ for great ideas from the USDA on the Choose My Plate website.
