Imamura Sensei
We finished the semester with the choosing of our 8 student "ambassadors" to Hokkaido. The students will represent Fort Hayes during a 3 week home stay adventure this summer! We also had many students compete in the National Nengajo contest sponsored by AATJ (American Association of Teacher's of Japanese). I can't wait to see the results!! It's been several years since Fort Hayes won. I feel like 2018 is our year to bring home another win!
We will begin Grading Period 3 with Japanese 1 students exploring modes of transportation in our "Trains, Planes and Automobiles" unit. Japanese 2 students will learn how to describe people in our "Heroes" unit. Japanese 3 students will delve into the mysterious realm of yokai in our "Folktales, Fables and Legends" unit. Finally, the students of Japanese 4 will explore racism in Japan, a heavy but interesting topic for sure.
I look forward to a wonderful second half of the year!
