Staffing Updates for 2018-2019
1. Laura and Marisa will be exchanging classrooms in order for Marisa and Joy to be across from each other as DLI Teachers.
2. Jamie Olcese will be moving to 3rd Grade. Therefore, the EL room and she will need to "swap" spaces for next year.
3. There are still a number of Mentor positions open for next year. If you are interested in a Mentor position, please see me.
Master Schedule 2018-2019
I need to have a representative from each grade level along with RA, EL, and Special Ed. Please email me if you are interested in working on this committee by the end of next week. I will give the team member names to Jama and she will let you know when you will be meeting after Spring Break.
Thanks for your assistance with this task!
Note: I think it is important to have a schedule in place for the new principal for next year. However, please know that he/she may make adjustments as they see fit.

News from Central Office
Today’s Focus: Teams
“A team is two or more people with two things in common: a shared goal and good communication.”
– Chuck Bowman
Reflections to Guide Your Journey
How do you communicate within your school/department/the organization?
Do all of your teams have a distinct goal?
What are some factors of effective communication with your teams?
Why do these contribute to the overall success?
We are GLAD you are all a part of the GCS team!
Anticipated Absences (Personal leave and/or PTO) on 3/28/2018:
Per previous correspondence in regards to 3/28/18 absences, this applies to classified employees also. We will NOT double charge for the absence. However, similarly to teachers, we still need a written description of the absence. It is the employee’s responsibility to provide/forward a written explanation to Denise Hoffer in payroll. Please share this with your employees.
End of Year Celebration – May 30th!
We are hoping that there are no more school cancellations and that our End of Year Celebration can be held on May 30th. In the next few days, Vickie Grant will be sending an email to school secretaries with a tentative list of employees that we have identified to recognize at this year’s End of the Year Celebration. We thank these secretaries in advance for helping us to confirm with your staff that their years of service are correct. Additionally if you know of anyone who should be on this list and is not, please let Vickie know and we will check into it. Thanks you!
That’s all for this week!
