A note from Mrs. Schnick for the month of September..
Happy September! We are now officially into the swing of things and most staff and students have done a wonderful job adjusting. If students are still struggling with their locker or they are having trouble finding a class, we are here to help and support them. Please encourage your child to advocate for themself and ask for help if needed. Our responsibility is to help our students be successful in all capacities!
A few updates:
*The students have been doing an EXCELLENT job with our new cell phone policy. We appreciate everyone's cooperation and your support as their parent/guardian with enforcing this rule. We truly want students focused and engaged in learning in every class period, thus maximizing instructional time.
*Attendance: students are permitted to be absent from school up to NINE DAYS THE ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR. This does not include excused absences such as for a medical appointment. If your child is absent, a parent/guardian must contact the school first thing in the morning.
*Dress code: please review pages 17/18 in the student handbook to ensure your child is following the school dress code.
*The middle school HAWKS program will begin the week of September 5. All middle school parents/guardians should expect an email home Wednesday with their child's grades, number of missing assignments, and goal for the week.
*After School Assistance Program (ASAP) will begin September 12.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions. I look forward to a great year!
Yours in education,
Alissa Schnick
Principal
