Byte-Sized Treats to Transform Learning 5.01.20
Dedication During the COVID-19 Disruption
Disruption. It's been our education reality since March 12. On that date, the Office of Instructional Technology -- like all Fayette County teachers and staff -- swung into action as COVID-19 disrupted our usual work, and we segued into meeting the online teaching and learning needs of the district. In the case of Instructional Technology, it meant our Digital Learning Coaches offered Office Hours and multiple training sessions on topics ranging from Google Classroom and Canvas -- to Flipgrid, Thinglink, Zoom, and much more. To date, OIT has served 1,500 unique FCPS teacher visitors, provided 100+ training sessions, and offered over 175 hours of Office Hours. These numbers, too, don't include the numerous individual 1:1 sessions offered by our district coaches. We are most definitely living through a historical disruption, one that requires all of us to dig deeper to support our students and families.
