Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

The Chocolate Sale continues! Collection envelopes are due October 1st. If students need additional boxes, please bring a note in and we will give students additional boxes.

New Reading Logs (teal color) went home tonight. Students are to read an average of 20 minutes per night. This means if a student read 10 minutes one night, they would read 30 minutes the next night. However it works out for the student, 100 minutes a week must be read. Reading Logs are to be signed by parents or guardians. New Reading Logs are due next Monday, 9/28.

A Note About Spirit Gear:

This is just a reminder that eligibility for Spirit Gear is determined by the teachers on Thursdays. It is used to reward students for perfect attendance, excellent behavior, and completing all work (at home and school). I will communicate to your child on Thursday, if the student is eligible for Spirit Gear. Until the orders for this year's spirit shirts are filled, students may wear last year's spirit shirt or a Seahawks shirt on top. The only options for pants are proper fitting blue jeans (without rips) or school pants (navy blue).

Please remember, even if your child is eligible, he/she can always wear the uniform if he/she (or you) choose not to purchase Spirit Gear.

In the classroom...

Students did a fantastic job last week presenting their Rain Forest Skits to the class! Students were assigned different groups that interact with the Rain Forest. Students wrote their own skits about using or preserving the Rain Forests and what that might look like now and how the decision will impact future generations.
