Christmas Break is almost here...
Mark your Calendars!
- December 20: Christmas Service Dress Rehearsal at 9:00 a.m.
- December 21: PM Pre-Kindergarten Christmas Service at 2:00 p.m.
- December 21: Christmas Service at 7:00 p.m. (Students arrive/Church Doors open at 6:30 p.m.)
- December 22: Christmas Break starts at 11:45; NO PAS today.
Many thanks go to all our Pilgrim families for your support of the Christmas Service and all the other Holiday events here at Pilgrim. Our chapel theme for the year is Freed and Renewed, and we have woven that theme into the Christmas Service.
Please help to make it an orderly and reverent experience for all! Please note that 6:30 is arrival time, unless otherwise noted below. The actual service starts at 7:00 p.m. All students from A.M. Pre-K through 8th Grade are obligated to attend this service, as it is a key part of our curriculum.
Here are some simple guidelines that we ask all parents and family members to observe for Christmas Service:
- Upper Grade Chorus students should be here at 6:00 p.m. for warm-ups in the Annex.
- Soloists and Ushers enter at 6:15 p.m. Soloists go to the Parlor; ushers go to the rear of the church.
- Doors open for parents at 6:30. Seating is reserved for those parents who purchased reserve seating at the Auction last spring.
- All Students enter the school doors on Cullom. Students must be in their homerooms between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m.
- Pre-service music starts at 6:45. The actual service starts at 7:00 p.m.
- Students should dress appropriately for a Church service. All focus should be on the worship rather than the fashion. A collared shirt, dress pants, dark socks and dress shoes for boys; a dress or a blouse and dress pants or skirt for girls.
- Parents, please avoid distracting students; refrain from clapping, waving or loud talking; no flashing, beeping or peeping devices.
- With 130 families in the building this year, we are trying to maximize seating for parents and guests. We ask that parents not drape coats over large expanses of pews. We want to maximize seating for everyone. If a parent or guest does come late and must sit behind the organ, we are arranging for a live video feed so that everyone can see and hear what is happening.
These guidelines help kids keep their focus. Thanks for your support of these guidelines!
If a parent or guest cannot attend the Christmas service Thursday evening, please know that the “dress rehearsal” on Wednesday morning is open to the community. We are starting pre-service music at 8:45 and the actual service at 9 a.m., which is an hour earlier than our normal chapel time. This rehearsal will run a little longer because we are still tweaking things; however, the music, the movement, the lights and the decorations will all be there. This is a great opportunity for family members or friends who have some time during the day to see the great things that our students do.

Pre-K Christmas Service
The PM Pre-K Class has a special Christmas Service on Thursday, December 21, at 1:00 p.m. in the Church. Families and friends of the PM Pre-K Class are all welcome to attend. Immediately following the PM Pre-K Service, students and teachers invite their guests to a reception in Maring Hall.
Lunch on December 21st
In order to prepare for the PM Pre-K reception, Grades 1-8 are eating lunch in their classrooms on Thursday, December 21. If you order Hot Lunch, students will pick up their trays and then return to their homerooms to eat. Otherwise, students should come to school with a cold lunch, ready to eat. Microwaves will not be available.
Notice concerning PAS for Friday, December 22: NO PAS on Friday, December 22. All Students have a half-day; students will dismiss at 11:45 a.m. Parents should plan to collect their children as soon as school dismisses. NO PM_Pre-K on Wednesday, December 22. Please note that the School Office is officially closed during Christmas Break. If you need to communicate with Pilgrim, please leave a voicemail on the Principal extension, or email the Principal.
Thank You Pilgrim!
Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU PILGRIM! The generous and helpful spirit of the Pilgrim community never ceases to amaze, and the time, effort, and giving that went into the Push for 25k raffle was no different. As a result of some more donations that came in over the past week, we have raised our total to an amazing $24,900! Only $100 short of our goal. We could not have raised so much without so many putting forth effort-every ticket counts! We are happy to report that 72% of our families sold at least one ticket or donated. An awesome turnout! Special congratulations to Mrs. Halter's and Ms. Stone's classes. They were the only two classes to sell all of their tickets and will get a special party next week! Special thanks to the Desai/Danek familiy who set the record for most tickets sold at 34!
Congratulations to all of our raffle winners (sellers in parenthesis):

Ms. Stone’s 1st/2nd Grade Homeroom, accompanied by the 7th/8th Grade Elves, go to Pablo Casals School of Excellence today for a playdate. The tradition of visiting Pablo Casals started many years ago when former Pilgrim Principal and Pre-K teacher, Beth Ruppe, was doing an internship at Pablo Casals. The warmth of the children and teachers at Pablo Casals has been welcoming Pilgrim students ever since. As a thank you for their invitation to this special playdate, Pilgrim will bring 232 wrapped Christmas presents for the Pablo Casals students to enjoy. Thanks are due the whole Pilgrim Community for the generosity the provides these toys. Thanks also to Mrs. Andreen’s 7th/8th Grade Homeroom for sorting and wrapping many of the toys. Finally, thanks to the many parent shoppers and chaperones for this playdate. You have all made it happen the way that it should! We look forward to hearing your stories and seeing your photos when you return.
