A Message from the Principals
Dear Millbridge Families,
We are very excited about the many activities planned for next week to celebrate Read Across America. A special thank you to the dedicated members of the committee who arranged and scheduled special guests, purchased and organized books to be given to the students that were provided by the PTO, and planned other fun activities. Be sure to ask your child about what they have done to celebrate and note the special dress themes that will be recognized throughout the week.
Additionally, there has recently been some buzz about the Momo Challenge and it has caught the attention of some of our students. We have included some important information for parents in this week’s corner.

Important Information for Parents: Momo Challenge
Recently there has been a spike in the popularity of a malicious ‘challenge’ floating around the internet. Referred to as “Momo”, the challenge has caught the attention of schools and children across the country. The challenge works by showing the viewer disturbing images and messages enticing them to complete activities such as waking up in the middle of the night or even to partake in potentially self-harming activities. The challenge is reportedly being distributed through social media outlets such as Facebook, Youtube, WhatsApp and TikTok. While these platforms are making strides to stop the spread of these messages, some are still getting through.
While it is difficult to fully protect one’s self or devices from this hoax there are steps you can take to protect yourself and children. First, take advantage of any parental control settings a device or social media platform has to offer. These restrictions are not perfect, but they do aid in blocking most inappropriate content on the web. If you or your child happens to come across images or messages that resemble Momo, report and block the content. Last, and most importantly, be sure to be present when your child is using technology. The best web filter is you.
