Local Control Accountability Plan: Student Achievement Update

Mr. Linh Nguyen, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services updated the Board of Trustees on the 2021-22 District Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). An overview of the 2020-21 school student achievement data was presented along with the 2021-22 LCAP goals, actions and services, and the implementation status of the actions and services. All of these elements are intended to support and achieve the 2021-22 LCAP desired outcomes.

ESSER III Expenditure Plan

The Governing Board approved the ESSER III Expenditure Plan as it was presented. In March 2020, Congress passed the CARES Act. The one-time relief funding package provides local educational agencies with emergency relief funds to address the impact COVID-19 has had and continues to have, on elementary and secondary schools across the nation.

Enrollment Report for September

Mr. Stephen Corl, CSD Chief Financial Officer, updated the Governing Board on the monthly report of enrollment by school and current school year. Currently there are 2,294 students in the Cambrian School District, as of September 28, 2021.

Candidates for the Santa Clara County Committee on School District Organization

The Governing Board identified and encouraged qualified candidates to stand for election to the Santa Clara County Committee on School District Organization. Whenever there is a Santa Clara County Committee election, the Cambrian Board is asked for their input and help to identify and encourage qualified candidates to stand for election to the Santa Clara County Committee. There are 11 seats on the County Committee. This year, three seats are up for election, one each in Supervisorial Districts 1, 3, and 5.


Supervisorial District 1: Area contains most of south county, encompassing all or parts of the following school districts: Cambrian, Franklin-McKinley, Gilroy Unified, Lakeside Union, Loma Prieta Joint Union, Los Gatos Union, Morgan Hill Unified, Oak Grove, San Jose Unified, Saratoga Union, Union, Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High, and portions of Campbell Union High, East Side Union High.


Supervisorial District 3: Area contains most of northeast county, encompassing all or parts of the following school districts: Alum Rock Union Elementary, Berryessa Union, Cupertino Union, Evergreen, Milpitas Unified, Mount Pleasant, Mountain View-Whisman, Oak Grove, Orchard, San Jose Unified, Santa Clara Unified, portions of East Side Union High, and Sunnyvale.


Supervisorial District 5: Area contains most of northwest county, encompassing all or parts of the following school districts:* Campbell Union, Cupertino Union, Los Altos, Moreland, Mountain View-Whisman, Palo Alto Unified, Santa Clara Unified, Saratoga Union, Sunnyvale, and portions of Fremont Union High, Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High, and Campbell Union High.

Next Board Meeting

The next Cambrian School Board meeting will be held Thursday, November 4th at 7 p.m. Meetings are held in person at the Professional Development Center located at 4115 Jacksol Drive, San Jose 95124 in Building 7, and can be viewed online as well. Agenda and login information will be available the week of the November 4th meeting. The meeting is open to the public.
