Update regarding spectator safety at MTRS Home games - January 11, 2022
With the growing trend of COVID infections in our district, we are conscious of the delicate balance of maintaining the health and safety of everyone in our building as well as the need to continue to provide social and emotional and academic experiences for our students and families.
The COVID task force met on Monday, Jan. 10 and agreed on the following amendments to spectator requirements at MTRS home games:
MTRS students participating in “home” games will be permitted to bring a maximum of four (4) immediate family members as spectators.
As soon as possible
Students must provide coaches/ the front office with a list of family members who may attend home games this season.
During home games
Family member spectators must wear masks before entering the building.
Once in the gymnasium, families must remain seated together, separated from other family groups by six feet.
Masks must be worn at all times during these games.
Food and drink may not be consumed in the gymnasium at any time.
Families must exit the building immediately after the end of a game and wait for their student in their cars.
Important Health Reminders:
Family members who experience signs of sickness should not not attend games. As a reminder, all home games will also be live streamed at www.vimeo.com/mtrsd for those who can’t attend in-person.
If you or someone has tested positive for COVID-19 and have attended an MTRS sporting event, PLEASE contact our district COVID-19 Nurse Leader Donna Weber (dweber@mtrsd.org)..
Keeping our student athletes, and our school community, healthy and safe is a priority. We’reare only able to do this thanks to your continued support the FAB FIVE:
Trust the facts; get the VAX! Get your COVID-19 vaccine and booster when you are eligible!
Wear your masks
Practice physical distancing
Wash your hands (frequently with soap or with sanitizer)
Stay at home if you are not feeling well!
Thank you in advance for your support of these steps in trying to provide opportunities for families to enjoy watching their children play high school sports.
