Welcome to 6th Grade!
Earth & Space Science
Look Out! Great Year Ahead!
It has been a real pleasure to meet all of the 6th graders this week! After weeks of anticipation and prep, it sure is exciting to start a new school year. This week we'll focus on building our classroom communities, both in Advisory and each section of Science. We'll work on routines and procedures, play some games that help us get to know each other, and learn about our new school. Being new to CPS myself, I'm enjoying learning right along with the kids. As we delve further into the year, I'll be sending out newsletters and emails to help keep families aware of what is going on in our class and important CPS reminders.
A Little About Me...
Many of you may know me from my years at Nantucket Elementary School. I taught fourth and second grades at NES for 18 years. This summer, the opportunity presented itself for me to move into the 6th grade Earth & Space Science position. After careful consideration I decided to take the opportunity. I have a Bachelor's in Elementary Education from UMASS-Amherst and a Master's in Science Education from Lesley University. With this background I decided this would be a good fit for me and am looking forward to an exciting year.
