Glenside Stages Annual Black History Month "Halls of Fame"
Thursday, Glenside Elementary students presented their annual Black History Month project, "Halls of Fame." This year's theme was "African Americans and the Vote." Students lined the halls to share their research, artwork and learning.

Elkins Park Students Conduct Mock Trial for a Character from “The Giver”
Mary Aiken’s reading classes at Elkins Park have been working on a mock trial with former district reading teacher and administrator Anne Spector, who works with the Rendell Center for Civics & Civic Engagement. The students read the dystopian novel “The Giver” and worked with Mrs. Spector throughout January and February to process the novel, choose a character to be placed on trial, choose witnesses and learn how to create questions for the witnesses. CSD Receives $45K Meritorious School Safety Grant from PCCD
The Cheltenham School District has received a $45K school safety grant from the School Safety and Security Committee of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). Cheltenham will use the funds for the real-time school crisis and emergency management application Ruvna for CHS, CBK and EP, security radios and cameras and a safety and security assessment. Calendar Reminders
Monthly early dismissals are generally the second Wednesday of the month. In March, the District has early dismissal on Wednesday, March 11. Schools will dismiss at the following times:
- Cheltenham High School | 1:30 p.m.
- Cedarbrook Middle School | 2:10 p.m.
- Elkins Park School | 2:40 p.m.
- K – 4 Schools | 2:45 p.m.
in advance of Spring Break, schools will dismiss at the following times on April 3:
- Cheltenham High School | 1:55 p.m.
- Cedarbrook Middle School | Noon
- K – 6 Schools | 1 p.m.
Schools will be closed Monday - Friday, April 6 - 10 for Spring Break.
District Offices will be closed Friday, April 10.
- First day of the 2020-21 school year is Monday, Aug. 31.
- The final student day of the 2020-21 school year is Thursday, June 17.

Pick Up Your Special Olympics T-shirt
CHS Skills for Life students and Staff are proud to introduce their 2020 Special Olympics t-shirts! This spring at Hatboro-Horsham High School, Skills for Life students and MCIU Autistic Support classes across Cheltenham School District will be paired with General Education peers to compete in a variety of track and field events. Their goal is to raise money to provide participating athletes and buddies with a free Special Olympics uniform t-shirt. Please help them reach their goal by ordering one (or several) Special Olympics t-shirt in honor of our participants. Shirt for $15 and can be ordered online (with a credit card) or by submitting this order form (with cash or check) at the high school. All orders must be completed by Friday, March 27. CHS Skills for Life students are responsible for processing, packaging, delivering and mailing the orders. Contact Philip Cohen or Vonnie Yeomans with any questions. Thank you for your support!

The Policy Committee convened Thursday, Feb. 20 with co-chairs Julie Haywood and Dan Schultz, committee members Joel Fishbein and Tyrone Smith, Superintendent Dr. Wagner Marseille, administrators and solicitor in attendance. The committee put forth a number of policies for adoption at the March 10 legislative board meeting.
